Mendocino Purple Kush

Mendocino Purple Kush is a predominantly indica variety (THC ~15–23%) that combines the resinous, purple-tinged lineage of Mendocino Purple with the heavy-hitting Kush profile. Expect a plant with a tall, vigorous structure and broad leaves; several phenotypes are common, including greener individuals that tend to finish a few days earlier and more purple-tinged phenotypes that develop sweeter aromas. Overall it’s an indica-leaning hybrid with dense, colorful buds and a strong earthy-sweet terpene character. Effects lean squarely toward classic indica sensations: relaxed, sedating and often sleepy — suitable for evening use or when rest and tension relief are the goal. The high is typically deep and long-lasting rather than cerebral or energetic, so it’s commonly chosen for unwinding, easing muscle tension and helping with sleep. With a moderate THC range peaking in the low 20s, it can be potent but not overwhelmingly so for experienced consumers. From a cultivation standpoint Mendocino Purple Kush is best suited to indoor grows and responds well to Sea of Green (SOG) or similar high-density techniques because of its tall, vigorous habit and high yield potential. Flowering runs about 8–9 weeks; growers should watch nutrient levels carefully — this variety tends to show signs of overfeeding — and plan for a high-yielding finish. Difficulty is moderate: not extremely fussy, but benefitting from attentive feeding and training to manage height and maximize bud production.
